Before starting the migration it is important to understand how items are connected and how the connections between items can be broken. Broken connections we will call orphaned from now on.

 

SSRS Migrate will only require fixing orphaned items on the source SSRS server for shared datasets and linked reports.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Orphaned Items

Orphaned Item occur when a defendant item is deleted.

 

for example a shared dataset will become orphaned if the shared dataset it links to is deleted. Recreating the linked item will not fix the link. You have to manually reset the link. If the source server is native mode SSRS migrate will show a fix URL to go directly to the page to relink the item.
